Introductory Flying Offer

Booking information

Liverpool Flying School's (LFS) Trial Flights are flown from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (L24 5GA).

​

Please call LFS on 0151 448 9808 to book your flight and call again on this day at least 1½ hours before the flight to check that the weather is suitable for the flight to go ahead. If the weather is not suitable, you will need to re-book for another day.

​

Validity

The standard voucher is valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

​

Christmas 2022 Vouchers are valid from 27th December 2022 to 24th December 2023. Christmas 2023 Vouchers are valid from 27th December 2023 to 24th December 2024.

​

Vouchers are non-refundable but can be transferred to another person upon written request. Please note that placing a voucher for sale on any website is strictly prohibited and renders the voucher void.

​

Postponement of booking & re-scheduling

If the weather is unsuitable on the day of the booking i.e. low cloud, poor visibility or high winds then there is no charge for re-scheduling within the voucher validity period.

​

If LFS have to delay or cancel a flight due to pilot illness, aircraft technical problems or any other reason, LFS cannot accept any responsibility for any loss from this delay or cancellation. The flight will be rescheduled at the next available booking slot within the voucher validity period.

​

If the flight is cancelled for whatever reason and the voucher is due to expire, the validity of the voucher may be extended as determined and at the sole discretion of LFS. A charge may apply.

​

Cancellation of your booking or no show

Once you have booked the date and time it is important that you keep to this booking. However, if you wish to cancel this booking no charge will be made if the cancellation is made 7 days or more before the booked flight date.

​

Any cancellation less than 7 days before the booked flight will constitute a cancellation and re-scheduling fee of £30.00. Fee is payable at the time of re-scheduling.

​

In the event of illness or other extenuating circumstance that requires a booking to be cancelled at short notice, LFS may require, at its sole discretion, a medical certificate or other independent evidence in order to waive an additional sum that falls due.

​

If a booked flight is not cancelled and/or the person does not attend on the time and date of the booking, the flight will be forfeited without refund.

General Information

Flight dates are available 7 days a week subject to availability.

​

Flights can be affected by inclement weather, aeroplane serviceability, and pilot illness or for other operations reasons. LFS will accordingly re-book these affected flight but no refunds are available.

​

The person flying should be generally fit and healthy and not suffering from any ailments such as heavy cold. The person should be agile enough to climb into the cockpit (however, assistance will be on hand from ground staff if required. If there is any doubt about your health LFS reserve the right to request a medical certificate confirming your fitness to fly. If in doubt, always consult your doctor first.

Any person who feels they are not medically fit enough to fly should consult their doctor prior to purchasing the voucher or taking the flight. For instance, advice should be sought from their G.P. if they have any known heart complaint, suffer from epilepsy, asthma or any other illness or disability.

​

Any participant's conduct, either on the ground or in the air, which at LFS's discretion is deemed to potentially jeopardise the safety of the flight will result in immediate cessation of the flight or refusal to conduct the flight with the participant. If the participant appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, Liverpool Flying School will, at its absolute discretion, refuse to conduct the flight and the participant will forfeit the flight without refund.

Height, weight and age limits are wide ranging and can be discussed with LFS before booking, if there are any concerns. Generally people under 6'3" and of average build can easily fit in the cockpit. For flights in the two-seater Tomahawk the maximum weight of the person taking the flight is 15 stones. For flights in the four-seater Cherokee, we can take upto three people with a maximum weight of 42 stones. Maximum weight of the person taking the flight is 17 stones. For safety and legal reasons, it is helpful when making your booking to advise LFS of your height and weight and that of any additional passengers) you propose to bring along. We can usually plan to make fuel adjustments on the day of the flight.

Those under 18 years of age will require a parent/ guardian written consent.

Sensible and comfortable dress is recommended.

​

Always call on the day of the booking before setting off to confirm that the weather conditions, aeroplane, flight crew and airport are all good so that the flight can go ahead as planned, and arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled flight time.

​

Even when you show up at the airport, there can be no guarantee that the flight will go ahead due to possibly a change in the weather or the aeroplane developing a fault. If this is the case LFS will do all it reasonably can to honour the flight on a later date within the voucher validity period.

​

LFS will accept no liability for financial or consequential loss.

​

If you are travelling a long distance, please contact LFS the day before you travel to check and confirm the booking and to see if the flight is still on with respect to the weather etc. If there is any real doubt we will suggest you re-book without any charge.
